Ina Garten Lobster Tail Recipe

Ina Garten’s Lobster Tail is a recipe that showcases the sweet, succulent flavor of lobster. The tails are prepared with a rich butter sauce and baked or broiled to perfection, creating a dish that’s both easy to make and incredibly impressive.

Ingredients

  • Lobster tails: 4 (5–6 ounces each), thawed if frozen.
  • Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup, melted.
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced.
  • Paprika: 1 teaspoon.
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon, freshly squeezed.
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon.
  • Black pepper: 1/4 teaspoon, freshly ground.
  • Fresh parsley (optional): Chopped, for garnish.
  • Lemon wedges: For serving.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the lobster tails

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or set your broiler to high.
  • Using kitchen shears, cut through the top shell of each lobster tail, starting from the base to the tip. Gently pull the meat away from the shell and rest it on top of the shell for a beautiful presentation.

Step 2: Make the butter sauce

  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, paprika, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir well.

Step 3: Brush the lobster tails

  • Place the prepared lobster tails on a baking sheet. Generously brush the butter sauce over the lobster meat, reserving some for basting during cooking.

Step 4: Cook the lobster tails

  • To bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the lobster meat is opaque and cooked through.
  • To broil: Broil 6–8 inches from the heat source for 8–10 minutes, basting once halfway through, until the meat is opaque and slightly browned on top.

Step 5: Garnish and serve

  • Remove the lobster tails from the oven or broiler. Brush with any remaining butter sauce and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
